Really liked how the plot combined the ideas of the past and future. Life was fine for Eni in 1413 and then he met Murdoc, the wizard of the March, a man reputed to be in league with the devil for his unnatural power to tell the future. When Eni is forced to become his apprentice he finds out the truth and must decide if having the power of a wizard is worth the price.
